Mission

Foundation 38 is committed to creating and supporting programs for children and their families that will directly improve their quality of life. The foundation is dedicated to building healthy minds, strong bodies and supporting places to grow. Foundation 38 provides the practical information and tools that children need for restoration, growth and ultimately to become winners through building self confidence.

Foundation 38 for is also committed to the pursuit of knowledge and believes that a child’s opportunity to learn and develop the gift of his or her imagination should not be limited by economic classifications, social status, physical challenges or geographical boundaries. These core values are reflected in our deep commitment to support a broad base of children’s programs that promote learning through creative education. By inspiring our children to embrace the richness of their cultural and individual expressions today, we can lay the foundation for tomorrow’s dreamers, teachers, healers, leaders and visionaries.  Foundation 38 was formed in 2011 by an accomplished Author, National Radio Show Host, Motivational Speaker and entrepreneur.

Our Goals

*To foster the growth of general education and to promote the love of learning and sports.

*To develop scholarship programs for students based both on need and on academic     achievement as well as athletic accomplishments.

*To collaborate and build alliances with other foundations and diverse programs to further the goals of education and athletics.

*To encourage the use of creativity and innovation in children’s education.

*To recognize and reward successful academic programs and educators around Middle Tennessee for their commitment and achievements.

*To promote the involvement of both family and community in schools and other academic programs.

*To raise funds that will support students suffering from hardship.

Scholarship Program

Foundation 38 established a scholarship program to help economically challenged youth achieve their dreams through higher education. Scholarships will be awarded yearly to some of Middle Tennessee’s most gifted students.  These students possess leadership skills, academic success, athletic success and extra curriculum activities.

The criteria used for selecting recipients are as follows:

• A high school senior, accepted to a four year accredited college or university
• A grade point average of 3.0 during junior and senior years
• An essay on why they should become the recipient of The Treece Advantage Scholarship, with a minimum of 250 words
• Three letters of reference, from non-relatives
• Financial information for need determination

Consideration that will aid the decision:

• Leadership skills inside and outside of school
• Academic club(s) membership
• Social, religious organization(s) membership
• Band, sports, etc… (extra curricula activity involvement)
• Job(s) / Work experience

Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 and above to remain eligible for the scholarship. Recipients are required to submit official transcripts at the end of every semester and a verification letter from a charity organization to show your annual community service hours. 

The selected applicant will be held to a high personal and professional standard.
